Buying cloth only

If you have an installer or plan to do it yourself, we sell cloth online:

Color availability changes, so check the product page or call us before you schedule a refelt.

Signs it's time to refelt

  • Bald or shiny spots, especially around the head string and the rails
  • Tears, burns or cuts from miscues
  • Pilling or fuzz that slows the balls
  • Balls rolling off line or "skipping"
  • Faded color from sunlight
  • You're moving the table, since the cloth often has to come off anyway

Most home tables need new cloth every 5 to 10 years; heavily used tables every 1 to 3 years.

What our refelt includes

  1. Remove the rails and the old cloth.
  2. Clean the slate and check the seams.
  3. Stretch and fasten new cloth on the bed and on each rail.
  4. Reinstall the rails and pockets and check the table's play.

A standard 8-foot refelt takes about 2 to 3 hours on site, and the table is ready to play right away. If your cushions are dead (balls bounce short or "thud"), replacing them during the refelt is the cheapest time to do it.

Refelting with a move

If you're moving the table, add new cloth to the move instead of booking a separate refelt: +$345 for Championship or +$545 for Simonis on our quote, compared with $595 and up on its own. A move to a new address starts at $695 and a move within the same home starts at $645, plus $50 per flight of stairs. We work on three-piece slate tables only.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to refelt a pool table?

At Golden West Games, a refelt starts at $595 for a 7-foot or 8-foot table with Teflon-treated Championship cloth, installed. Simonis cloth adds $200, 9-foot tables add $50 and oversized or snooker tables add $100. A travel fee applies more than 15 miles from Lakewood, WA. Prices from our online service quote, checked October 2026.

Is Simonis cloth worth the extra cost?

For serious players, usually yes. Simonis 860 is a worsted wool cloth that plays faster and truer and wears more evenly, and it's what many tournament tables use. For a family table that sees heavy, casual use, Teflon-treated Championship cloth is durable, resists spills better and costs less.

How often should a pool table be refelted?

Most home tables need new cloth every 5 to 10 years. Tables with heavy league, bar or family use may need it every 1 to 3 years.

How long does a refelt take?

A standard 8-foot refelt takes about 2 to 3 hours on site. The table is ready to play as soon as we're done.

Should I refelt when I move my pool table?

It's a good time to. The cloth often has to come off for a move, so adding new cloth to a move costs less than a separate refelt: $345 more for Championship or $545 more for Simonis on our service quote.

Can I buy pool table cloth and install it myself?

Yes. We sell Championship Invitational bed and rail cloth and Simonis 860 cloth online. Installing cloth well takes practice and the right tools, especially on the rails, so most owners have it done professionally.
